Research Focus:

Our young research group is mainly interested in studying the alterations of the immune system due to cancer and after stem cell transplantation. A better knowledge regarding the tumor-associated strategies contributing to an immunosuppression will support the development of novel therapeutic strategies. Furthermore, we aim to “learn” from tumors how they specifically weaken immune responses in order to translate these findings into potential experimental approaches for the treatment of rejection reactions (so-called Graft-versus-Host disease) following stem cell transplantation.
